Dear Roosevelt Dads Club Members,
On behalf of the Roosevelt Dad’s Club Board of Directors, thank you all for joining the Dads Club for the 2015/16 school year. We are excited to say that this year we have broken the record for club membership. At this time we are at 154 members and growing!

Roosevelt Elementary Dads Club’s (REDC) main objective is to support our students academically – by helping our children succeed in school, physically – by volunteering and maintaining a presence on campus, and emotionally – by supporting positive learning habits on a daily basis.

One facet of REDC that I personally think is important and often glossed over is the opportunities provided to meet your neighbors and make new friends. Along with events throughout the year, we have monthly meetings that provide the status of club projects and allow for fellowship amongst members. Participate as your schedule permits. REDC offers an array of support to Roosevelt Elementary. From Teddy’s Café, our monthly student award cookout, to sponsoring major fundraising efforts such as the Dads Club Annual Golf Tournament. Our calendar of events is available on our website at RooseveltDadsClub.com and updates can be found on our Facebook page at Facebook.com/RooseveltDadsClubTampa.

2015/16 Events:
– We will have 2 moring meetings “Donuts with Dads Club” on Nov. 3rd and Feb. 2nd. This is a great chance to spend a little time with our kids before school. We plan to have drawings for prizes for the kids.

– Teddy’s Cafe starts Sept. 25th. This is our monthly opportunity to have a presence on campus and show both the faculty and our hard working students how important Roosevelt and their education is to us as dads. Come out and have lunch with your child and take a little time to help us cook some hot dogs. We will send out a sign-up genius for each Teddy’s Cafe and we ask that everyone try to at least make it out once.

– On Sept. 25th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM is the Roosevelt Old Fashioned Back-to-School Picnic. Co-sponsored with PTA there will be a DJ as well as a food truck.

– Friday afternoon Nov. 13th is the Roosevelt Dads Club Clay Shoot. Take a half day off and join some fellow dads for a fun afternoon. Believe me, it is a “blast.”

– Dec. 12th is the Roosevelt Dads Club Holiday Bowl. Bring your kids bowling and give mom an opportunity to get in some holiday shopping. This is always a fun event for the kids and fills up fast so keep an eye out for the sign up!

– We’ve brought back Roosevelt Dads Club “Night at the Movies.” This year it will be held Friday Jan. 22nd from 6:30
PM to 8:30 PM. Bring the entire family for a movie in the school courtyard under the stars.

– Again this year we plan to attend the Gasparilla run as a water station serving water and Gatorade. This raises
$1,000 annually and is a good time.

– Our final event is our 10th Annual Dads Club Golf Tournament on Friday, February 26th. Mark your calendar! This is our fund raiser for our club and we need your participation. The past 2 years we have raised close to $30,000. Ask around, this event is a great time! We have lots of great raffle prizes including our Big Green Egg raffle.

One request I would like to make this year is please wear your Dads Club shirt to all school related events and activities. This is the best way for our school family to see our presence on campus!

Keep your eye out for event reminders and sign-ups. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact myself or any board member.

Finally, if you haven’t signed up as a member yet, please do so by logging on to join.rooseveltdadsclub.com.

Sincerely,

Chip Stites

Dads Club Golf Tournament
February 27, 2015
Dear Friends of Roosevelt Elementary,
We are excited to be writing to you about the 9th Annual Roosevelt Elementary Dads Club Golf Tournament!
This is the largest fundraising event put on by the Dads Club.

We all feel very fortunate that we are able to send our children to an A-rated elementary school located in the heart
of our South Tampa community. It’s because of the hard work of the faculty, parents, and the support of the local
business community, that Roosevelt has been able to maintain this A rating.

Over the last several years we have seen the student population at Roosevelt continue to grow. As the class size
grows, so has the need for additional support from the parents and our local businesses. The Dads Club Golf
Tournament is a great avenue to support Roosevelt. It is also a great way to advertise your business!

We will be hosting the 9th Annual Roosevelt Golf Tournament this year on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the recently
renovated MacDill AFB Bay Palms Golf Complex. We are currently seeking sponsorships and collecting donations
from businesses and individuals. Please find the attached sponsorship form that explains the different levels of
participation. All proceeds from the tournament will go towards supporting Roosevelt Elementary projects.

With monies raised over the past several years, the Dads Club has been able to complete many projects including:
building the Dads Club Pavilion, iron fencing around the property, decking at the nature trail, WiFi network in the
classrooms, sound system in the cafeteria, carpool and walkers corner pavers, smart boards in all the classrooms
and a new sign, not to mention thousands of hotdogs served at Teddy’s Cafe! This year’s projects include: fans in the
pavilion and new library shelving.

We hope that you will join us in this year’s tournament. If you have any questions or need additional information,
please contact Kevin Riffey @ 813.786.6248 or kriff18@gmail.com, Eric Scott @ 813.785.6185 or escott05@
tampabay.rr.com
or Chip Stites @ 813.205.5760 or icre8@tampabay.rr.com.

We thank you in advance for your support of the Roosevelt Rough Riders!

Sincerely,
The Roosevelt Dads Club Golf Tournament Committee

2014 RDC Bowling Tournament

bowl
The Roosevelt Dad’s club is hosting our annual Bowling event Saturday, December 6th at 11:45AM. Please arrive early! We encourage our members to bring the kids out and have some fun bowling with all of their Roosevelt comrades. The wife gets the afternoon off and we get to have some fun. All members, friends, and family are invited.

Spots will go fast so please sign up early. Price is $12 per person, which includes pizza, a pitcher of beer per lane, and kids drinks.

We have reserved all 16 lanes this year. We are planning a minimum of 6 bowlers per lane. So if you would like a lane for your group you must purchase 6 or more slots. On the signup please let us know who you would like to bowl with. These groupings are not set it stone. We are trying minimize some of the confusion on the day of the event where members try to pair up with other members on one lane. I will keep a list of signups and will keep everyone updated on how many slots are left.

Thanks again for all of our members support!

Signup can be found here: bowling.rooseveltdadsclub.com
